Thresholds Centre [map ref 411994] is situated where riders have access to several Ride UK routes. These are newly published routes on the internet and all routes have been signposted and checked by Shropshire County Council.

We are also linked with other establishments providing accommodation for horses and riders to enable you to explore the south west Shropshire hills.

About Us:

Thresholds is situated at the northern end of the prehistoric trackway, known as The Portway, on top of The Long Mynd at nearly 1400 feet above sea level.

From Thresholds you can ride across The Long Mynd including joining The Jack Mytton Way. Ride UK / Ride Shropshire routes are also easily accessible, with one route actually passing Thresholds. Other well marked bridleways in this beautiful countryside will enable you to explore less well known parts of The Long Mynd and Stiperstones area

WE OFFER

On a DIY basis:- Stabling for up to 7 horses.

Grazing in a paddock which has a water supply and partitioned to separate horses if required. See the photographs below

Mid day comfort stop for horse & rider i.e. picnic stop. Seating inside or outside for your picnic. Displays and art exhibition to enhance your visit.

Hot and cold water and WC.

Facilities to make a hot drink

Storage for carriages / parking for horse boxes etc.

Standard coarse mix and hay supplied in fee

Suggested routes supplied on a laminated map, view points indicated with an explanation of what you can see to enhance your visit.

Both circular and linear routes can be provided.

Hire of Sat Nav Garmin eTrex Legend Cx which have the routes stored in the memory

Help with transport of food, baggage etc between our linked venues on your ride

We work closely with local Bed & Breakfast establishments to help you enjoy your stay.

Limited basic camping on site available by request

FEES

Picnic stop £2 for a visit up to 2 hours per person and horse

Sandwiches / ploughmans lunch to be ordered at least two days in advance an extra £3

Overnight £12 per horse

Riders must have a valid passport and public liability insurance for their horse. For the safety of all our customers we ask that your horse’s vaccination and worming is up to date
