3rd Introduction to silk painting for accompanied children [ 7 - 14] Last year some of the children learning silk painting at Thresholds entered a National competition run by Guild of silk Painters. They were successful runners up
4th Introduction to glass painting
5th 11am An iIlustrated talk 'The landscape which inspired the Shropshire authoress Mary Webb'
12th 11am An illustrated talk 'Landscape behind the myths of Stiperstones, Long Mynd and Stapeley Hill'
Rubber Stamping events
*10th morning Rubber Stamping 1:- Making backgrounds; Using resist technique within a background; basic embossing and double embossing. At least two cards will be the result of the techniques used in this workshop
*17th morning Rubber Stamping 2:- water colour technique, stamping on fabric, silk and glass
* bring some sandwiches and stay on during our dabble afternoon to practice further
We have a library of over 300 stamps for use by our workshop customers
19th Advanced techniques in stamping not suitable for the novice morning

July 5th/ 6th Creative Arts Weekend
On Saturday Dr Gladys Mary Coles, internationally known author,
will lead a day of Creative Writing focussing on plot and characterisation.
The scene will be set with a guided tour of Shrewsbury.
At the end of the day we hope to have developed ideas for a Murder Mystery plot drawing on the landscape and loca stories for inspiration.
Sunday gives participants the chance to illustrate their writing under the guidance of our expert art tutors.
September 2nd a progressive Murder Mystery dinner with a ghost tour of Shrewsbury
We hope to open again this year for Heritage Open Days 11th -14th September Hopefully we will be running a weekend during September looking at how the landscape has changed using map and photographic evidence whilst on a field walk |
